(MENAFN) The Chief Executive Officer at Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) said that the company is aiming to complete a $122 million water pipeline project by February 2011, Gulf News reported.
Dewa has completed 48,458 kilometers of water pipelines until this date, accounting for 82.21 percent. The work on the project, which aims to increase the capacity of water networks, began on June 15, 2008, and is expected to be completed by February 14, 2011.
The project is part of Dewa�s ongoing expansion plans, designed to cater to the growing demand for water services in the emirate, according to the CEO.
Dewa�s capacity for water desalination rose last year rose twenty percent to 330 million gallons per day, compared with 275 million gallons per day in 2008, he added.
