(MENAFN) Diamond Developers chairman, Faris Saeed, said that the company eyes developing the first sustainable city in Dubai with a solar power farm that would be 70 percent green space, reported Arabian Business.
Saeed said that the company is currently finalizing its plans regarding the new solar farm. The company said in a statement that it had put the final touches on plans to develop the green city.
The chairman added that the solar farm would provide the city with all its electricity requirements. In addition, the city would recycle waste and sewage water for irrigation purposes in order to counter the lack of water in the region.
It is worth noting that the company plans on applying certain measures in the city to counter unnecessary carbon emission.
