(MENAFN) Dubai-based Drydocks World (DDW) has won a $100.4 million contract to build four Platform Supply Vessels (PSV), with option for four more units, for US-based Tidewater Marine, The National reported.
Tidewater is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tidewater Inc, the world�s largest and most experienced provider of global marine support services for the offshore energy industry.
The vessels will be built at DDW- Nanindah shipyard at Batam in Indonesia and the first unit is targetted for delivery in 18 months time, followed by the rest every two months.
Each PSV will be constructed to Rolls Royce Marine�s design, UT755CDL and powered by Diesel Electric Propulsion. It will be 81.55 metres long, weigh 3,200 tons and will be equipped with a cargo deck measuring 670 square metres.
