(MENAFN) Dubai-based contracting firm Drake & Scull International (DSI) secured a USD128 million contract to carry out a major utility project in Abu Dhabi, Arabian Business reported.
DSI will carry out the MEP works for a pumping station attached to a new 40km wastewater tunnel, which is currently under construction in the emirate.
The project is being developed by Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company, as part of the city’s strategic tunnel enhancement programme aimed at meeting future demand.
The project, poised to become one of the longest gravity-driven wastewater tunnels in the world, will be located at the end of the new deep tunnel sewer in the Al Wathba area.
The entire system is expected to generate over 15 m3/sec of grey water for irrigation when completed.
