Du to become UAE’s main mobile service provider in 2012

(MENAFN) Du’s executive vice president for corporate affairs, Farid Faridooni, said that next year, the company would be expected to become UAE’s main mobile phone service provider, reported Emirates 24/7.

Faridooni added that Du would slash rates of a number of its services, such as mobile and fixed phone calls, furthermore, the reduction would cover local and international calls as well as roaming and internet services; moreover, Du would provide new value-added services to its clients.

He also said that Du’s mobile phone market share in the country surged to reach 46 percent at the end of October, adding that after the fourth quarter, the firm would be expected to keep its business expansion and achieve high revenue.

It is worth noting that the number of mobile phone users in the UAE is estimated at 11 million at the current time, including more than 600,000 blackberry subscribers.
