(MENAFN) Dubai Air Show has just witnessed a massive order, as Jet Airways India ordered 75 of American Boeing’s 737 single-aisle airliner at a cost of USD8 billion, based on reports.
The order has definitely created some much needed momentum at the Dubai show, which on its first day saw a single order for two Boeing 777 freighters from Etihad Airways.
Jet Airways is adding aircraft as rivalry heats up in the fast-growing Indian air travel market, where it’s pursuing to take on no-frills carriers like SpiceJet and market leader IndiGo.
However, plane makers and airlines signaled that they expect somewhat few further deals at this week’s expo as the industry pauses to digest a record haul of new planes.
