(MENAFN) Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that in the first quarter, exports and re-exports of the chamber’s members grew 7.8 percent from 2011’s same period of USD16.03 billion to USD17.28 billion, reported Emirates 24/7.
The chamber added that during the 3-month period, 3,449 new members joined the chamber, bringing the total number of its members to more than 131,900.
It also said that it issued 177,502 Certificates of Origin, compared with 168,558 in the same period a year earlier, with a rise of 5.3 percent.
Moreover, the value of the chamber’s exports and re-exports in March reached USD6.26 billion, whereas it reached USD4.79 billion in February.
It is worth noting that the highest number of certificates was issued in January, with 60,558 certificates.
