(MENAFN) Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that total value of its members’ exports and re-exports jumped 14.5 percent in 2011 from 2010 to USD66.95 billion, reported Emirates 24/7.
The chamber added that last year’s exports and re-exports recorded the highest figures in their history, surpassing the USD57.97 billion achieved during the economic boom of 2008.
It also said that in the year, members explored new markets in countries including Brazil, Turkey, Ethiopia, Australia and Netherlands; moreover, the number of the chamber’s members grew 8.5% from the previous year.
It is worth noting that monthly exports and re-exports registered their highest levels in May at USD6 billion, whereas the lowest point was in February at USD4.79 billion.
