Dubai Duty Free posts 10% rise in Jan-Sep sales

(MENAFN) Dubai Duty Free (DDF) executive vice-chairman, Colm McLoughlin, stated that during the first 9 months of the year, sales at DDF rose 10 percent from the same period a year ago, reported Khaleej Times.

The USD1.14 billion sales generated in the January-September period are expected to help the company achieve its target for 2012 full year sales of USD1.64 billion.

McLoughlin said that sales of perfumes jumped 15 percent from a year ago, reaching USD173 million, whereas sales of beverages were at USD168 million and sales of gold reached USD114 million.

Sales of Cosmetics grew by 16 percent to USD72.13 million, and sales of confectionery were up by 17 percent, reaching USD90.63 million.

It is worth noting that DDF plans to launch a second perfumes and cosmetics (P&C) retail area in Concourse B at Dubai International’s Terminal 3.
