(MENAFN) Dubai investors are said to be interested in participating in the development of a small airport in south west Wales in the UK, local media reported.
Local newspaper South Wales Evening Post Money quoted Pembrey Airport’s owner Winston Thomas as saying that businessmen in Dubai, Malaysia and India were interested in investing in developing the airport’s site, and that it would create up to 600 jobs.
The development plans involve the construction of a new terminal to meet future demand, Thomas added.
Thomas also said that Ryanair and 14 other airline companies have expressed their interest in the airport, on the Carmarthen Bay Peninsula, to provide services if the airport’s runway extension is completed.
He added that the airport was also seeing growing use by the UK military and has received proposals from the United States Air Force.
