(MENAFN) Dubai Municipality’s Head of Markets Department, Obaid Ibrahim Al Marzouqi, said that the municipality started a renovation project to develop Hamriyah Central Market, reported Emirates 24/7.
Al Marzouqi added that the operations would include building 8 new shops, where the total cost of the project would be expected to reach around USD2.7 million.
He also said that the main aim of developing markets in Dubai was to provide residents with better services, in addition to offer alternatives to consumers.
It is worth noting that Hamriyah market was founded in 1980 on 56,246 square meters of land, and at the current time it includes 73 shops, which will be raised to 81 by mid 2012.
