(MENAFN) Mattar Al Tayer, Roads and Transport Authority Executive Director and Chairman of the Board, said that the 2010 net profits of Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) were USD31.2 million, an 11 percent rise from 2009’s profits of USD28.2 million, Emirates 24/7 reported.
The Taxi Corporation brought in USD235.35 million in revenues in 2010, up from 217.52 in 2009. DTC’s expenditures also rose, from USD148.62 million in 2009 to 162.69 in 2010, Al Tayer said.
DTA’s profitability was enhanced by increased productivity. The number of productive kilometers increased by 6 percent last year, Al Tayer said.
Last year, DTC ran about 225,000 trips and carried 451,000 people daily for a yearly total of 82.3 million trips and 164.7 million passengers, Al Tayer said.
