(MENAFN) Dubai proclaimed that it will establish the largest plant in the Middle East in order to change solid waste into energy at a cost of USD0.54bn.
Additionally, the plan will achieve the vision of the civic body to make Dubai the most urban, sustainable and smart city by 2021.
Moreover, the move also comes in line with the national agenda to cut the landfill by 75 percent by 2021.
The application of the new plant will take three years, and will be operational in Q2 of 2020 during which it will receive 2,000 metric tons of solid waste per day.
