(MENAFN) Abdul Redha Abu Al-Hassan, director rail planning & development at the Dubai Road & Transport Authority (RTA), said that there has been a holdup in Dubai’s tramway system which was due completion in 2012, the two years delay was attributed to the economic meltdown, Bloomberg reported.
The global economic crises had obliged the authority to re-plan all their projects.
The first phase in the project was initially predicted to be finished in April 2011, where it was going to bridge the gap between Al Sufouh areas with Dubai Marina area by substituting the current bridge with a new one.
The Public Transport bus system is large and advanced but not large enough to accommodate the volume of people who use it.
