(MENAFN) Dubai welcomed more than 1.6mn visitors from Saudi Arabia last year, according to the Annual Visitor Report 2016 released by Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing.
Additionally, this marks a strong growth of 6 percent over 2015 and reaffirms Dubai’s position as one of the most popular travel destinations amid Saudis.
Meanwhile, the GCC States remained the number one volume generator for tourism to Dubai, receiving the highest share of visitor volumes for 2016 with a total of 3.4mn.
Moreover, KSA remained the dominant market amid the region, bringing first-time and notable repeat travelers to Dubai, trailed by Oman, which reached over 1mn.
