(MENAFN) Dubai’s Department of Economic Development (DED) and Daimler AG, the Mercedes-Benz vehicles maker, agreed to sign a deal that will see the two firms looking for efficient means to tackle around forgeries and counterfeits, Gulf News reported.
Under the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), DED will do its best to offer Daimler AG the receipts of the non-genuine Mercedes-Benz auto parts seized in the UAE so that the counterfeiter can be traced.
“DED and Daimler will work together to eliminate use and trade of counterfeit auto parts and to educate consumers on intellectual property rights (IPR),” according to an emailed statement.
