(MENAFN) Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) has landed a USD450 million contract to Siemens Energy Service to maintain the Jebel Ali M-Station, the Cogeneration & On-Site Power Production Magazine reported.
Jebel Ali M-Station is a 2,000MW combined-cycle power plant and a 140 MIGD (million imperial gallons per day) desalination plant.
The power station began commercial operation in 2012 with a power generation capacity to supply approximately one million households in Dubai with clean power generated by highly efficient gas turbines.
The 12-year contract includes the provision of comprehensive maintenance services for the six Siemens SGT5-4000F turbines and six SGen5-1000A series generators, which are installed in the plant.
The Long-Term Program (LTP) agreement includes the option for an extension of the service period.
