Dubai’s Dewa inks power purchase deal with Masdar
29 Nov 2016
(MENAFN) Dubai Elect and Water Authority (Dewa) has signed a Power Purchase Agreement with Abu Dhabi Future Energy Co. (Masdar) for the 800MW 3rd phase of Solar Park.
Accordingly, Dewa proclaimed that the Masdar-led consortium as selected bidder for the third phase of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.
In addition, the deal with Masdar supports the goals to spread the energy mix so clean energy will produce 7 percent of Dubai”s total power output by 2020.
Moreover, the agreement will also support the Dubai Plan 2021 to upgrade sustainability and happiness in Dubai and achieve the aspirations of its citizens.
