Dubai’s Dewa revenues to hit USD22.32b under new energy scheme

(MENAFN) The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Dewa, initiated a new programme set to increase its revenues to USD22.32 billion and net saving of USD14.15 billion, Emirates 247 reported.

For the programme aiming at greener economy and sustainable growth, Dewa prepared a total budget of USD6.22 billion for 2015 against a USD5.59 billion in 2014, alongside with an operational budget of USD3.66 billion compared to USD3.58 billion in 2014.

Incremental costs for the project would be about USD8.16 billion, revenues will hit USD22.3 billion, and net savings of up to USD14.15 billion, according to the CEO of Dewa.

‘Dewa has launched an operational plan to reduce energy demand by 30 percent, including eight major programmes: specifications and regulations of green buildings, retrofitting of existing buildings, etc.,’ CEO added.
