(MENAFN) The Dubai eGovernment Department’s Director General, Ahmad bin Humaidan, stated that during the January-September period, the number of Dubai’s electronic payment (ePay) transactions grew by 19 percent from 2011’s same period, reported Khaleej Times.
Humaidan said that in the period, 2.45 million transactions were carried out, up from 2.05 million transactions during last year’s first 9 months.
He added that the value of ePay deals in the mentioned period reached USD871 million, compared with the USD707 million reported last year.
It is worth noting that as for Gitex Technology Week 2012 from October 14 to 18; the department plans to introduce a larger combined stand of 2,700 square meters to host 26 government entities, the best online customer raffle; and the launch of its smartphone applications.
