(MENAFN) Dubai Chamber of commerce said that the emirate registered a high comparative advantage (RCA) in sugar and confectionery trade, which gives Dubai an advantage in this business, reported emirates 24/7.
An RCA number at over a hundred is an indication of positive performance. The chamber revealed figures showing that Dubai’s re-exports of sugar and confectionery RCA stood at 266, while the free zone’s exports RCA stood at 140.
The chamber also pointed out that Dubai’s location is strategic as it is close Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Iran, which were in 2008 among the world’s top sugar importers.
