Egypt’s elect firms allocate EGP500mn from power thefts

(MENAFN) South Cairo Elect Distribution Co., North Cairo Elect Distribution Co., North Delta Distribution Co. and Canal Co. for Distribution of Elect are the highest collectors of fees for power thefts.

Meanwhile, a standing committee was formed in order to supervise the distribution firms and oversee the commitment of applying the confirmed rules to confront power thefts.

Accordingly, this aims to allocate the dues owed to the state and maintain the power grid in order to end the frequent blackouts in slums.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Elect had posed many rules and regulations to installing coded meters in slums, involving that buildings must not be built on archaeological lands, roads or state land.
