Egypt’s ICT sector’s GDP grows by 3.6pct to EGP15.75bn in Q2

(MENAFN) An increase touched the information and communication tech (ICT) sector’s GDP by 3.6 percent amid the second quarter of this year to EGP15.75bn.
Accordingly, the sector’s GDP grew by 10.3 percent amid the period compared to the same period of 2016, while contribution of the ICT sector in the GDP grew to 3.3 percent.
However, the contribution of the sector to the nation’s GDP dropped by 12.1 percent in 2015 from 12.9 percent compared to 2014.
The number of mobile subscribers grew by 4.5 percent amid the month of Feb compared to the same period of 2016.
