Egypt’s Ministry of Elect predicts prices to reach EGP30bn

(MENAFN) The Ministry of Elect predicts revenues from the increase of elect tariff to reach EGP30bn, which will be implemented in the recent fiscal years 2017/2018.
Accordingly, the subsidy for the elect sector in the recent fiscal year hit EGP52.7bn, involving EGP47bn for household use and EGP5.7bn for other uses.
Additionally, the first tranche of consumers will receive subsidy worth EGP1.8bn, while the number of subscribers in this segment is predicted at 3.6mn subscribers.
Recently, the third tranche of 101 to 200KW/h is supported by almost EGP12.8bn, whereas the number of subscribers in this segment is 9.2mn.
