Egypt’s Orascom records USD49m net profit in Q1

(MENAFN) Egypt’s Orascom Telecom registered a net profit of about USD49 million in the first quarter of the year, marking an increase from the USD42.39 million of last year, a corporate statement said, Reuters reported.

In addition, the company recorded operating revenue of about USD84.61 million for the quarter, proving a slight increase from the USD84.32 million posted in the corresponding period last year.

Global Telecom Holding S.A.E., formerly Orascom Telecom Holding S.A.E., is an international telecommunications company operating GSM networks in the Middle East, Africa, Canada, and Asia.
