(MENAFN) A total 336 ships transited the Suez canal last week, carrying a total cargo of 19.5m tons, according to latest reports.
The average number of ships transiting the canal daily reached 48 throughout last week, with average cargos totaling to 2.8 million tons per day.
The number of ships transiting the canal from the northern direction hit 147 ships, reflecting a daily average of 21 ships, totaling 8.1 million tons in cargo.
While ships that transited from the southern direction reached 189 ships, a daily average of 27 ships, amounting to a total cargo of 11.4 million tons over the week.
