(MENAFN) British Tourist Authority revealed data showing that tourists from the UAE to the UK contributed USD490 million to the country’s economy in 2010, reported Emirates 24/7.
The authority stated that Emeriti tourists that visited the UK last year totaled to around 211,000, which was less than the number reported in 2009 at 246,000.
The authority said that even though the number of tourists declined in 2010, year on year, year-on-year spending went up by around 1 percent.
It is worth noting that the over 40 percent of the UAE visitors to the UK last year went during the peak summer season between July and September, estimated at 90,000.
