(MENAFN) Missouri-based power equipment manufacturer Emerson Electric Company disclosed plans to spend USD33 million to expand its Middle East and Africa headquarters campus in the Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai., Arabian Business reported.
The investment includes setting up new distribution and testing facilities, assembly areas and offices on a total area of 13,000 sq m, the company said in a statement.
Scheduled for completion by the end of 2013, the expansion will enable Emerson to closely support its customers in the region, Emerson added.
The development will also enable Emerson Climate Technologies, a provider of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration solutions for residential, industrial and commercial applications, to consolidate two existing Free Zone sites, the company said.
Emerson said it sees significant growth potential in the Middle East and Africa region, especially for Emerson Climate Technologies, Emerson Network Power and Emerson Process Management.
In fiscal 2011, Emerson’s total sales in the Middle East and Africa were USD1.2 billion.
