(MENAFN) Dubai-based Emirates Airline unveiled plans to add three new routes to its global network over the next six months amid fierce competition with rivals Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways, Arabian Business reported.
The carrier said it will launch new flight services to Adelaide, Lyon and Warsaw, and triple its daily services to Perth.
Emirates explained that it will launch four weekly flights to Adelaide on November 1, shifting to daily in February 2013. Emirates already serves four destinations in Australia including Sydney, Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane.
The fast-growing airline will also launch flights to Lyon, France on December 5 and to Warsaw, Poland in February 2013.
The carrier announced the addition of nine new routes so far this year. New destinations include Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires and Barcelona.
Emirates also plans to boost passenger capacity by 18 percent this year compared to a 15 percent increase last year, said Thierry Antinori, executive vice- president for passenger sales.
