(MENAFN) Emirates Group’s Department of Engineering and Operations’ Executive Vice-President, Adel Al Redha, said that in the coming two years, Emirates airlines would hire more than 8,500 new employees from different nationalities, reported Emirates 24/7.
Al Redha added that the new employees would include technicians, pilots and stewards, to operate 50 new planes to be delivered in the mentioned period.
He also said that the carrier would raise the number of Emiratis working at the company by encouraging them to occupy positions like engineers and pilots, adding that at the current time, Emirati pilots, engineers and technicians accounted for around 12 percent of the carrier’s staff, and the company would increase the number to reach between 20 percent and 25 percent.
It is worth noting that Dubai-based Emirates airlines has around 70 pilots and 60 engineers and technicians undergoing training at the current time.
