(MENAFN) Emirates’ chairman, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, said that the carrier thinks about acquiring international airlines, reported Arab News.
Sheikh Ahmed added that if the foreign firm fits the Emirate’s strategy and the price is right, then the Dubai government-owned company would consider a purchase.
He also said that at the current time, there are no negotiations between Emirates and any Indian airline for such an acquisition.
It is worth noting that this week; the Indian cabinet is forecasted to make a decision on whether to let foreign carriers acquire stakes in local airlines.
