(MENAFN) Etihad Airways inked a code-share accord with China Eastern Airlines to include joint route and schedule coordination, subject to regulatory approval, Arabian Business reported.
Etihad previously signed a similar agreement with Hainan Airlines under which it places its ‘HU’ code on Etihad Airways flights between Abu Dhabi and the airline’s three gateway cities in Beijing, Chengdu and Shanghai.
Under the deal, the airlines will also agree full frequent flyer exchange, airport lounge access, joint product development, and technical and cargo cooperation.
Earlier this month, Etihad Airways started 5 weekly flights to Shanghai, which will expand a daily schedule from April 15.
