James Hogan, Chief Executive Officer at Etihad Airways, the UAE’s national airline, has launched its first inaugural flight to Seoul’s Incheon Airport in South Korea, making it the airlines’ 65th destination in its seven years of operations, WAM reported.
According to Hogan, Etihad will operate a daily A330-200 three-class service, offering 2,800 seats each week on the route.
Following the codeshare agreement signed in October, the new services will operate under an Etihad Airways (EY) and Asiana (OZ) flight code, explained Hogan.
The UAE’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, Mohammed Al Maainah, said that UAE is continuing to build relationships with South Korea across a number of industries including energy, construction and infrastructure, whereas Etihad’s commencement of services will also see a real focus on building a partnership in tourism and travel.
