(MENAFN) Etihad Airways is set to launch new flight services to the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa, and to the Indian city Ahmedabad in November, Arabian Business reported.
The carrier will fly an Airbus 320 plane five times a week to Addis Ababa, its ninth destination in Africa, increasing to daily flights in 2013.
Etihad will also operate daily flights between Abu Dhabi and Ahmedabad, the airline’s ninth destination in India, also using Airbus A320 aircraft.
CEO James Hogan said that the airline is looking to grow to a USD5 billion business this year from over USD4 billion last year.
The carrier, which reported 28 percent increase in first quarter profits to USD989 million, also unveiled plans to service new routes to Vietnam and South America next year.
