(MENAFN) Ford Motor Company’s Global Customer Service Division’s vice president, Frederiek Toney, said that the firm would establish a USD53 million Parts Distribution Centre (PDC) in Jebel Ali Free Zone Area (JAFZA), the UAE, reported Gulf News.
Toney added that the center would be the carmaker’s largest single investment in the Middle East, and the most important service initiative in the region.
He also said that the PDC would have the capacity to store 50,000 individual parts, or six million in total, with an estimated inventory value of USD43 million.
It is worth noting that Ford’s new PDC will lessen the time clients must wait for parts to arrive at their service locations, since around 92 percent of the parts will be available in no time in the region for vehicle service or repairs.
