(MENAFN) UAE’s Ministry of Finance (MoF) said that in 2010, the number of properties registered and held by GCC nationals within the UAE rose, where property contracts’ number reached 4,604 from 4,024 in the previous year, reported Emirates 24/7.
The ministry added that in the year, gross cumulative rates of GCC nationals who owned properties in the UAE grew from 29,425 in 2009 to 34,029, moreover, seven branches of GCC banks were registered in the country last year.
It also said that the number of GCC citizens working in the UAE reached 4,190 employees compared with 3,589 in the previous year, furthermore, GCC citizens working in the country’s federal public sector grew to 789 employees from 605 in 2009, nevertheless, the amount decreased in the private sector from 3,080 employees to 2,906.
It is worth noting that in 2010, the number of licenses given to GCC citizens in order to practice economic activities in the UAE went up reaching 26,223 from 24,109 in the previous year.
