(MENAFN) Gulf Intl Bank proclaimed that it had been granted a retail banking license in Bahrain by the kingdom’s central bank for its digital venture called Meem.
Meanwhile, the license will permit the bank to operate in Bahrain as in conventional retail banking, allowing it to increase in Bahrain and other gulf nations.
The bank aims to launch Meem products and services in Bahrain by the coming year, planning at developing the fiscal tech sector in the country.
In addition, GIB is licensed by Bahrain’s central bank, headquartered in Bahrain and owned by the governments of the Six Gulf Co-op Council nations.
