(MENAFN) Honda Middle East said that due to a malfunction in the software program which would affect the automatic transmission, the carmaker would recall around 2,000 Accord vehicles in the UAE, reported Arabian Business.
The company added that the engine in these cars might stop or it wouldn’t be easy to put the car into park position if the driver shifted between gears quickly.
It also said that the number of recalled cars worldwide would reach 2.49 million; the procedure would include the 2005-2010 four-cylinder Accord model, 2007-2010 CR-V and 2005-2008 Element vehicles.
It is worth noting that earlier in 2011; Honda recalled 7,000 Civic models in the UAE over an engine cooling issue.
