(MENAFN) Hyder Consulting, the designer behind Burj Khalifa, plans to employ 500 engineers, as it is preparing to undergo new projects in the Middle East, ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Financial Times reported.
Graham Reid, UK regional managing director said Hyder will hire engineers from the UK, Germany and Ireland.
The firm has won several contracts in Qatar and Saudi Arabia, and is involved in new projects in the region including USD124.5 million contract to design roads and drainage in Doha and a three year advisory commission from Jeddah Municipality.
Hyder, which specializes in transport, property, utilities and environmental sectors, said its 2011 adjusted operating profits for the Middle East increased 50 percent to USD6 million from USD4 million a year earlier.
