(MENAFN) Oman’s year on year inflation for May this year reached 1.96 percent, driven by an increase of 7.46 percent in the transport set, 1.57 percent in housing, water elect, gas and other fuels.
However, prices of foods and non-alcoholic beverages dropped 0.03 percent in the cited month compared with the prices amid the same period of 2016.
On the other hand, the health set increased by 0.40 percent, while communication declined 2.90 percent against last year”s prices.
Moreover, the price of meat grew 0.36 percent and that of vegetables by 2.86 percent, whereas price of oils and fats fell 0.06 percent and fruits by 2.77 percent in May.
