Insurance sector in Bahrain remains steady

(MENAFN) Bahrain’s local insurance sector amounted to USD721.72mn in 2015, compared to USD726.66mn in 2014.
Additionally, the growth in business from the previous year has been strongest for medical insurance at 11pct followed by motor insurance at 4 percent.
On the other hand, medical insurance, which grew from BD47.89mn in 2014 to BD53.39mn in 2015, showed a growth of 11 percent.
Moreover, the Takaful industry in the country showed an increase in terms of gross contributions of 3 percent to record BD63.22mn in 2015.
