16 Aug 2012

(MENAFN) Baghdad has awarded a USD100 million contract to London-based oil and gas services firm Petrofac to implement offshore services, UPI reported.

Petrofac said the 12-month contract, awarded to its Offshore Projects & Operations (OPO) business unit, will commence following a three-month mobilization period.

The company will provide offshore operations and maintenance services for state South Oil Company’s new oil export facility.

The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, in its monthly report for August, reports that Iraqi crude oil output passed the 3 million barrel per day mark for the first time since 2003.
