(MENAFN) Jordan confirmed on the delivery of electricity to single-detached houses in poverty pockets utilizing solar power units at a cost of USD 8.46mn.
Moreover, the decision will cut financial loads for the public, and the service will be limited to poverty pockets after collaborating with the Social Development Ministry.
The country which recently imports 97 percent of its energy needs annually, has signed many agreements for renewable energy projects.
In addition, many projects are applied or under application and by 2020 the kingdom will have solar and wind power projects with a whole capacity of 1,600 megawatts.
