(MENAFN) Jordan will receive a USD 100mn interest-free loan in order to offer job chances for 100,000 Jordanians and Syrians, to help the country address the refugee crisis.
Moreover, the loan will be extended to the Kingdom despite it’s not eligible to obtain such loans as an upper-middle income country.
“For the first time in history, we take money designated solely for the poorest countries, and give it to an upper-middle income country,” said WB Chief.
In addition, Jordan will use the loan to create 100,000 jobs, even after the Syrian refugees return to Syria, which will be a job generator for Jordanians.
