(MENAFN) Gerald Lawless, Executive Chairman of Jumeirah Group, the luxury hotel company in Dubai, and member of Dubai Holding, said that the company has signed a management contract with Liuhe Group, a subsidiary of Hangzhou-based WEI Jun, to operate the Jumeirah Thousand Islands Lake Resort in Qiandaohu, China, Gulf News reported.
According to Lawless, the resort which is situated on Qiandao Lake in the heart of the popular Hangzhou-Thousand Island Yellow Mountain Golden Tourism Route, approximately 135 kiometres from Hangzhou, is currently under development and is scheduled to open in 2014.
The property will consist of a luxury hotel with 89 guest rooms and a further 50 rooms in villas dotted among the trees, in addition to an all-day dining restaurant together with two specialty waterside restaurants, a water-moon wine bar and a pool bar, Lawless stated.
Excluding the mentioned resort, Jumeirah Group has five management agreements in China including hotels and resorts in Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Sanya, Macau and Shanghai. Bringing the total of agreements to six, said Lawless.
