(MENAFN) Finance Ministry in Kuwait said that Kuwaiti exports to Japan went down by 20.2 percent reaching $814.4 in November 2010 compared to November 2009, KUNA reported.
The ministry also said that imports reached $103.5 million falling by 46 percent. Imports have been falling in the past three month. Main imports are automobiles which account for 57.8 percent of total imports.
The ministry announced a 14.2 percent fall in trade surplus with Japan. Still, Kuwaiti exports exceed imports from Japan by 53 billion, making Japan Kuwait’s main trading partner.
It is noteworthy that the Middle East imports from Japan fell by 16.1 percent to $1.95 billion as a result of shipment cancellation for several products such as rubber products, machinery, electrical components, and transport equipment.
