(MENAFN) Kuwait consumer price index rose to 4.8 percent in October compared to the same month of last year, and 0.1 percent in contrast to September, Arab Times reported.
According to the Central Department of Statistics, the main index of consumer prices reached 150.2 points in October compared to 143.3 points a year earlier.
The data showed that the food prices rose 9.9 percent from a year earlier, while clothing prices hiked four percent. Cost of educational and health services increased 3.4 percent from a year earlier.
Prices of housing commodities and services rose 4.6 percent compared to October 2010.
The index comprises of commodities and services which climbed 4.6 percent, and transports which rose 2.9 percent, while beverages and tobacco dropped 0.4 percent.
