(MENAFN) UK-based engineering firm Amec won a repair contract for Kuwaiti oilfields, funded by the United Nations Compensation Committee, Arabian Business reported.
The contract includes the remediation of Kuwait Oil Company oilfield properties damaged during the 1990-1991 Iraqi invasion of Kuwait during the Gulf War.
Amec has been working in Kuwait since the end of the first Gulf War and holds a five-year contract for engineering work at KOC’s three refineries.
Kuwait Oil Company will act as the managing agent and contracting entity, AMEC said.
