Kuwaiti telecom firms revenues jump to 1.8pct

(MENAFN) Kuwaiti telecommunication firms posted a 1.8 percent growth in net profits in the second quarter of this year.
Additionally, the four telecom firms, VIVA, Zain, Ooredoo and Hits Telecom recorded USD212.54mn in the cited quarter this year, compared to USD208.7m in Q2, 2015.
Moreover, Mobile Telecom Co. (Zain) posted a 14 percent increase in net profits in the same quarter of 2016, to USD148mn from USD129.69mn in Q2 of last year.
Meanwhile, the four companies recorded KWD121.7mn profits in the cited period of the recent year, compared to KWD117.25m in the year-ago period.
