(MENAFN) Kuwaiti logistics firm Agility secured a USD238 million contract to provide logistics support for the Gorgon natural gas project in Western Australia, Trade Arabia reported.
Under the 2-year contract terms, Agility will provide logistics, stevedoring, and related services in support of the Marine Loading Facility in Henderson, Perth.
The company selected Patrick Stevedoring, part of Australia’s Asciano, as the prime subcontractor for the stevedoring services.
Agility’s Australia CEO Mick Turnbull said the company was further granted a two-year extension of its existing contract, under which the stevedoring services have been added.
Gorgon is one of the world’s largest natural gas projects and the largest single-resource project in Australia’s history.
The project is a joint venture between the Australian units of Chevron, ExxonMobil, Shell, Osaka Gas, Tokyo Gas and Chubu Electric Power. The project is operated by Chevron.
